Conversation Hearts....THEY TASTE BETTER

Like many people for many years I have purchase a bag of conversation hearts around this  time of year...to decorate, to have looking cute in a bowl. It just wouldn't be Valentine's Day without them!
I've even stayed up on any news that involves these little romantic message vessels...how they are one of the oldest candies out there, (Necco, since 1847) that they've managed to stay hip and "with the times" when they add such messages like FAX ME, EMAIL ME, WWW.CUPID, and BABY DADDY.    http://www.haversack.com/haversack/hearts.htm
There's even people out there that go to great lengths to personalize their hearts: http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/messageheartsagain?mbid=synd_huffpost
Stamp your own damned messages!

And of course, THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT.

I don't know these kids...
But never, not since I was a kid, have I popped a heart in my mouth. As I recall, they tasted chalky and gross.  And then....

I tried one.

After all this time....they must have changed the formula! (Guess I wasn't as up on the latest news as I thought I was.) They are kinda fruity, and although still chalky I don't seem to mind it as much.
Now I'm reading that they did change the flavor! AND then sales went down. Moreover, there's a campaign (really just a page) on Facebook that is trying to get Necco to go back to the old flavors.

YES....the DEADUTANTS are back! I love them and I hope others love them too!

Okay....I'll admit: the Deadutants do stray a little from the norm. Especially from my normal CUTE and CUDDLY needle felted creatures. But there's a special place in my heart for these art dolls, and I just feel like there's got to be more people out there that feel the way I do.
I must admit...I HAVE sold two of these scary cute dolls on Etsy so far....and I was SOOOO elated when I made those sales!  I put my heart and soul into these Fancy Females and when someone actually gives $money$ to me for them....I KNOW THEY LOVE THEM TOO!!!

It's not the money that drives me....it's the excitement of making a sale and knowing someone wants to give their hard earned money to have something I MADE. :)
Also, I spend hours on each tiny detail...so these art dolls are really a labor of LOVE. How appropriate for Valentine's Day, right?

This gal was created with Valentine's Day in mind. One of my favorite holidays, Valentine's Day always invokes really sweet and wonderful memories of my childhood. The colors and textures of Valentine's Day was, for me, was almost as magical as Christmas!
Well, I just wanted to introduce my little Valentine Sweetheart out there to the internet....and maybe a few people will see her. Maybe most will think she's strange, and just doesn't fit in....but I think I love

A Mouse in the House

Tried to scare John (my hubby) the other day with this needle felted mouse I made. It was actually my very first attempt at needle felting from about a year or so ago. I had it with my other critters in a box and it still needed eyes so I gave him some and put him next to one of the traps that John put around the house...
He said it did scare him when he saw it....for just a couple of seconds though. ;)

My new craft room....a work in progress!

I'm so excited about this....we're turning a previous walk-in closet into a CRAFT ROOM for me! All for me! John and I moved back into our home here in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, and since we've been back we've been trying to conform to the layout of the house.  We both want a space of our own, and there didn't seem to be enough space for the both of us to have separate spaces.  For some reason it didn't occur to us that the walk-in closet could be turned into a space simply by getting rid of some old clothes and moving some things around! It was funny how it just dawned on us...like "Why didn't we think of this before?!"
So anyway, after emptying it out I ran out to Home Depot and bought some paint! I decided on a color called "Tropical Dream." Pretty cool name for a nice, calming color on the walls of a nice, calming craft room. :)
