My Latest Cake Topper is so....Deer!
When I was creating the deer for this cake topper...it started with the bride. She was just so feminine...so I was inspired to create a big, strong buck to protect her.
Here they are....he's carrying her over the threshold on his back. :)
Hey, sometime they just create themselves....

Girly Girl Deer
If you're an artist, you know when your subject leads you in an unexpected direction. I always follow where I'm led....it often leads to places that I never would have headed. But the subject knows what it wants to be!
This deer is just an ultra-feminine deer that would not be held back. She insisted on a skirt and bow and her delicate legs look like she might just be a great dancer too... :)

Made another Deer with Bluebird Friend!
![]() |
Well, I created another deer with a bluebird friend...this time putting the bird on the deer's head. I used this beautiful blue-green wool that looks so cool...and made a little necklace of pink crackled glass beads. Then I attached a teeny tiny locket to the necklace (and the locket really opens and closes!)

I love the blue-green with the pink color combination...
It takes quite awhile to create the deer of course, but even though the little bird is tiny, it takes a long time too! I have to get the little face just right...
But I'm happy with the way it turned out. I posted it on Etsy tonight: http://www.etsy.com/listing/94683917/needle-felted-deer-with-littl
